An atypically light colour for Ripasso, aged in large format French wood following fermentation on pomace of Amarone Classico for one month. This is excellent. There is little to bring awareness to dried fruit characteristics, such is the purity and transparency. A wine of verve, fecund strawberry flavors, a lilt of bergamot and deft levels of concentration. Yet so light on its feet as it pirouettes through the mouth with a mineral twirl and a saline spurt across the long finish. An easy substitute for a quality Burgundy. Drink or hold. Score - 95.
